Explore Downtown San Diego
If you’re a parent, San Diego has everything for entertaining the kids— between the zoo, the parks, the beach and SeaWorld—there's quite literally never a dull moment. Old Town San Diego is perfect for some traditional Mexican food and Californian history, while the San Diego Bay is home to the Navy Pier, Seaport Village, USS Midway Museum, the Star of India and the Maritime Museum of San Diego.
Besides the beaches, San Diego is home to some of the country’s greatest outdoor spaces, most notably the 1,200-acre Balboa Park, a historic landmark home to the San Diego Zoo as well as a number of museums, gardens, restaurants and the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center. The space is a breathtaking one, featuring open space areas, natural vegetation zones, gardens, and walking paths. The park's site is one of the oldest in the United States dedicated to public recreational use.
Downtown is a professional hub for financial and biotech industries, allowing for an unrivaled work-life balance. Centre City, as it’s also known, is the cultural, financial center and central business district, and is served by the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System, the San Diego Trolley. There is also a commuter train linking downtown with northern San Diego County, called the Coaster, which also stops at communities along the San Diego County coastline.
