The Irvine Ranch Historical Park on Old Myford Road is the site of the original Irvine Ranch Headquarters. The original Irvine family home, now demolished, was the central point of the agricultural headquarters, though other structures remain including a mess hall, bunkhouse, blacksmith shop and carriage barn.
Damaged by a fire in 1965, the Irvine family home was subsequently demolished and replaced later by the Katie Wheeler Library, a magnificent white mansion that is an exact replica of the original home. Today, portraits and personal photos are on display and there is a self-guided tour available for those who want to learn more about the Irvine Family. And on select weekdays, a charming farmers market is set up amidst the remaining orange trees that grow across the property.
