Around the Village
One of the most popular features of Turtle Rock is the walking trail system - a serene walk with the trailhead beginning at Chaparral Park wraps around the stunning hills in either direction - offering sweeping views of all of Orange County and the Santa Ana Mountains.
On Rockview Drive at the northern end of the neighborhood, now part of an association park, lies a rock that has the shape of the front of a turtle's carapace, and is sacred to the Gabrieleño Native Americans. It is often locally considered to be the origin of the name "Turtle Rock."
Set amid canyons and wetlands, Strawberry Farms Golf Course combines the rural beauty of the surrounding area with the challenge of true championship golf. As the premier golf course in Southern California developed by Doug DeCinces, former California Angel third baseman, the 18-hole course offers picturesque vistas across the 35-acre reservoir.
