Weather permits hiking all year long in Orange County, but for some reason the spring time just seems like the best. Summer can be too hot, and everything is brown in the cooler months, but spring is so welcoming. So just in time for spring sunshine, we\u2019re sharing our favorite orange county trails and hikes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Limestone Canyon<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Known as Irvine’s Grand Canyon, choose from more than 20 monthly hikes at Limestone Canyon, which offers everything from slow walks to cardio workouts. There are also weekly bike rides which include leisurely family rides (with stops to discuss habitat and wildlife), intermediate evening rides, and advanced rides on steep terrain.<\/p>\n

Bommer Canyon<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

Irvine Now lush and green thanks to restoration efforts, Bommer Canyon<\/a> is perfect for spring nature walks or bike rides. The trail is kid friendly and great for hiking newbies. Pay close attention to signs; some trails are only open for guided tours.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

El Moro<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

Crystal Cove This coastal hike offers different paths depending on difficulty, but all trails include inclines. The trails head inland, as well as toward the ocean where you\u2019ll take in incredible views. It is a state park, and parking costs $15 for the day. <\/span><\/p>\n

Weir Canyon Trail<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

Anaheim Hills The Weir Canyon Trail Loop is approximately 3.8 miles with moderately steep inclines, some being on the challenging side. Like most Orange County trails it can get hot, so make sure to bring water. Dogs are welcome on this trail. <\/span><\/p>\n

Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

Trabuco Canyon Many trails with varying distances and difficulties, some are even shaded. If you take Red Rock Canyon Trail you\u2019ll see views of beautiful red rock formations, truly unique for Orange County. Keep your eyes peeled for animals big and small, and be sure to bring $1 dollar bills or quarters for parking! <\/span><\/p>\n

Holy Jim Falls Trail<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

Located near Trabuco Canyon, Holy Jim Falls Trail is a 2.8 mile trail that leads to a waterfall (depending on the time of year). This hike is ideal for spring time, but consider bug spray to ward off pests.<\/span><\/p>\n

Barbara\u2019s Lake Loop Trail<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

This 2.7 mile loop trail is a part of the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park. The loop goes by Barbara\u2019s Lake, a natural lake. There are many other trails to take, which can make your hike more difficult.<\/span><\/p>\n
