Around the Village
One of the most popular features of Turtle Rock is the walking trail system - a serene walk with the trailhead beginning at Chaparral Park wraps around the stunning hills in either direction - offering sweeping views of all of Orange County and the Santa Ana Mountains.
On Rockview Drive at the northern end of the neighborhood, now part of an association park, lies a rock that has the shape of the front of a turtle's carapace, and is sacred to the Gabrieleño Native Americans. It is often locally considered to be the origin of the name "Turtle Rock."
